Friends, family & carers

The Family, Friends and Carer Service aims to provide support to the families, friends, and carers of people who misuse drugs and/or alcohol in the Luton area. We provide information, advice, and psycho-educative support to anyone who is concerned or affected by somebody else’s drug and alcohol use.

You do not have to be a registered carer to refer, and the person who misuses drugs or alcohol does not have to be in treatment with us. We ensure that affected families and friends have access to a confidential platform to reflect on their own needs and well-being without fear of judgement.

We offer sessions on a 1-to-1 basis covering the five steps family intervention. If needed, we can also refer to our counselling service or to partnership agencies.

The sessions will be held in Farley Hill Community Centre, Stepping Stones, and The ResoLUTiONs Hub on Castle Street. There is also a Family, Friends, and Carers group on Wednesdays 18:00 – 19:30, and Mondays 12.30 – 13:30 at The ResoLUTiONs Hub.

My one on one sessions have really helped me to understand addiction more and how to help myself handle my situation and how to look after myself first.  Without my one on one sessions, I would not have coped.

The sessions during lunch time were a huge success. The students really showed an interest with all year groups coming to find out more information. A great service. Thank you for your time.

The Recovery Hub has changed my life. I enjoy the socialising, and I am now a volunteer. I look forward to helping others who are in a position I was once in. The Recovery Hub is a place where you can develop positives from your negatives – just like a photograph.

ResoLUTiONs helped me get my life back on track, and I’ll be eternally grateful for the support and guidance I have received. Recovery is a long and difficult journey, but only you can make that first step.

I am so excited for the next part of my life. I am truly blessed that they worked so hard to get me here. Thank you so much.
